<image:title>About - Hi, I’m Callie Manea</image:title>
<image:caption>Callie Manea, M.S., LMFT, CCPS, Level 1 C-DGS License, Certified SYMBIS Facilitator - License #204300 I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in North Dallas, TX, and I love what I do! I provide individual, couple, and family counseling services in Flower Mound, TX. I specialize in couples therapy, relationship issues, sex and intimacy, betrayal trauma, blended families, dating after divorce, premarital counseling, re-partnering, faith deconstruction & religious trauma, EMDR and trauma recovery. For more info. on my background and training, click here. I received my Master’s degree and therapy training at Texas Woman’s University, where I worked with families and individuals in a juvenile post-adjudicated placement facility. For more information about my experience, training, and education, visit my FAQS page here. My preferred approach with clients comes from my own experience in what really works to heal, recover, and create change. Working through emotions can be messy and awkward - but can also bring a greater capacity for joy and connection. My approach is experiential - and emotion and attachment focused. Figuring out the right approach is different for everyone, but I hold to the belief that healing happens best in our connection with others - and starts with working on our relationship with ourselves. In my work with couples, we identify the cycles and patterns that show up in your relationship, and explore what you’d like to change. By increasing constructive communication and identifying the goals you have as a couple, we can expand on how you thrive and enjoy your relationship. As a hands-on/visual learner myself, I like to bring in tools that highlight how we can put communication and healthy relationship patterns to good use so you can be successful in building the relationship you hope for. In couples work involving betrayal and infidelity, I use therapy models specifically revised to be mindful of the trauma involved and the necessary stages of healing—addressing the immediate impact of the hurt with empathy and care. This process includes assessing whether it feels possible and safe to move into relationship-focused work, while also supporting the individual work needed to address harmful patterns and behaviors. From there, I guide you toward a clear, supportive path forward. When I’m not working with clients - some of my favorite things include enjoying travel often, learning to hone my green thumb in the garden, inserting humor wherever I can(I’m a sucker for a witty meme), finding new restaurants to try, and spending time with my husband and blended family that includes our eight fantastic kids. If you’re ready to reach out, want to know more about my background and experience - or just want to see if we’d be a good fit - click the button below to shoot me a message or to schedule a free 15 minute call with me.</image:caption>

<image:title>EMDR - FIND FREEDOM AND HEALING</image:title>
<image:caption>EMDR - EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING What it is: EMDR is a powerful tool for reducing distress related to traumatic memories, upsetting experiences, and life challenges. In lieu of traditional talk therapy, EMDR helps to remove blocks and accelerate and allow proper processing of these disturbances. How it’s used: When a distressing or traumatic experience occurs and isn’t fully processed, there is often a trigger or memory that “freezes” in the brain. This can cause us to develop certain automatic responses or adaptations that make it difficult to respond how we’d like to in relationships, at work, etc. EMDR is used to target this frozen memory so the intensity can be desensitized and reprocessed. By pinpointing the worst of the experience and its accompanying “stuck” beliefs, we can work to create new responses to enhance and expand your ability to connect with others and yourself. It is considered by some researchers that EMDR works similarly to REM (rapid eye movement) during sleep - aiding the body’s natural ability to restore and allow movement through channels that aid in emotional processing and development. What can EMDR treat? If you are finding something in your life that creates a feeling of “stuckness”, or you are frustrated with something you can’t seem to move past and it’s affecting your relationships, work, or keeping you from really living life - it is likely EMDR can help. Some things EMDR helps with include: Anger Outbursts Traumatic Memories Betrayal Trauma Flashbacks Trust Issues Self-Esteem Panic Attacks Grief & Loss Depression Anxiety Addiction Sexual Assault PTSD Performance Anxiety</image:caption>
